Making a Difference for the Children in Costa Rica

K&S Millwrights was invited to participate in a Dealer Sales Conference trip to Costa Rica this past January. While there, they participated in a mission project called 4 the Children that was organized by Sioux Steel, a supplier of our farm and commercial grain bins, unloading equipment, and fans.

4 the Children

black 4 the children logo4 the Children is the mission focused work of the trip organized by Sioux Steel and extended to their dealers. The biannual trip is organized by Sioux Steel through Score International, a short term mission organization that lists “engage people in mission work” among its five strategic objectives. You can learn more on the website here.

Mission Work at Area Schools

While on the trip, Brad and Susan Krumrey and their two children, along with Jon Pettit and his wife and two children, spent time working on painting projects at two local schools.

Susan shares a bit about their experience in Costa Rica. “We were very excited to hear about another mission day. Juli at Sioux Steel does an awesome job in organizing this for us and we couldn’t thank the Sioux Steel Family enough for the great experience. All the participating dealers bring along needed supplies to get the jobs done; either working or personal hygiene items for the kids. This year part of us worked at a couple different schools and others stayed at the resort to play and have lunch with children from a couple orphanages for the day. This was a great vacation and volunteering our time for others made it all the better.”

“The mission trip was a good experience especially for the kids to see others less fortunate than themselves. It felt rewarding to help others out,” adds Jon Pettit, Inside Sales and Inventory Manager for K & S Millwrights.

K&S Millwrights Hires New Sales and Customer Relations Rep

Matt Rath K&S MillwrightsMatt Rath joined the K&S Millwrights team in late December 2015 as the new Sales and Customer Relations Representative. Matt’s customer service area includes a six state area in the Upper Midwest, comprised of Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and part of Nebraska.

Matt’s role in sales and customer relations will provide K&S Millwright customers with a consistent contact, someone who will be very familiar with their needs and goals. “I love stopping in and talking with people and listening to their stories,” says Matt. Trust, relationships, and incomparable agricultural knowledge is what K&S was founded on in 1994, and the addition of Matt in this role within the company strengthens the company’s commitment to its customers.

Matt explains, “When I’m talking to people, many are very familiar with K&S Millwright’s core services. They know we can build just about anything, but I’ve run into a few who are pleasantly surprised to learn of the other ways we can help keep their operation running smoothly.” Matt says their large inventory of parts and related repair services is something customers appreciate. “Even during the coldest of days, we can go in and make repairs and help customers avoid further interruption to their daily operations.”

Matt grew up on his family’s farm outside Buffalo Lake, MN. He knows K&S as a business and has extensive agricultural knowledge, which has helped Matt quickly embrace his new role. “It’s great to have Matt a part of our team, as he knows our business first hand and possesses a vast knowledge of the agricultural industry. His personality and ability to respond to our customers is a great addition for our company. We are excited for the extra customer service support he will provide.” If you need to get a hold of Matt to discuss an upcoming project or any immediate need, please call K&S Millwrights or Matt’s cell phone at 320-583-2120.
