The following are the 2015-16 holiday hours for K & S Millwrights.
Thursday, December 24th (Christmas Eve): Closing at 12 (noon)
We will reopen for normal office hours on Monday, December 28th, 8am-5:30pm through Thursday, December 31st.
Friday, January 1st and Saturday, January 2nd – Closed
Did you see the recent article in The Land featuring K&S Millwrights? Dick Hagen, writer for The Land published an article on February 28, 2015 entitled “Grain Storage Quickly Rebuilt Following Weather Disaster”. The article highlights some of our recent projects including grain handling equipment rebuilds and replacements after severe weather, as well as our building of the new Hardware Hank store in Buffalo Lake, MN.
K&S Millwrights will be open on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 8:00am, but will be closing early at 3:00pm to allow families to celebrate together. We will remain closed on Christmas Day.
We will be open regular hours Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 8:00am until 5:30pm. We will be closed on January 1, 2015 for New Year Day.

Homecoming: September 22-26, 2014
This week is Homecoming for Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Schools, and we’d like to wish the Football team the best of luck on Friday night. The BLHS Mustangs take on Minnesota Valley Lutheran of New Ulm at 7pm. The Homecoming Parade is earlier in the day, starting at 1:15pm on Main Street of Hector, and a full list of this week’s BLHS Homecoming festivities can be found here.
News of falling grain prices and reports of record harvest amounts are surfacing, like the recent article in The Wall Street Journal on September 7, 2014, “Corn Price Falls as Crop Flourishes” and the Kare 11 News story “Rain Boosts Minnesota Corn Crop Forecast” published on September 11, 2014.
Reports of bumper crops across Minnesota and the Midwest this year can be a mixed blessing. While farmers continually strive to increase yield, it can adversely affect grain prices like what seems to be happening this fall. With current prices of grain lower than desired, many producers will take a chance on higher prices later by storing the grain now. If that’s the case, it’s important to make sure ample, quality storage is available. Additional grain storage allows you to market the grain when you want. More grain storage also means you keep your operation running efficiently, instead of sitting in long lines at local co-ops waiting to dump in the busy season!
